All of those channels inform our decisions. Still, we often get very similar questions about Give. For those who are new to WordPress or premium plugins, or something just isn’t clear, we collect all those questions here.

How much does Give cost?

Give is offered under what’s called the Freemium/Add-on model. This means we offer a 100% free, fully functional plugin for you to use forever — free of charge. That’s what you can download through your WordPress Admin area, or download from the WordPress Plugin Directory. But if you want to add additional functionality to Give, you can purchase our Add-ons.

Does Give work on non-WordPress sites?

At this point, no. Give is a free WordPress donation plugin.

I just bought a Give Add-on. Now what do I do?

Hey thanks! We appreciate that! Now you need to install and configure it. It’s a plugin just like any other plugin. We’ve put together an article on installing Add-ons. And every Add-on has a dedicated documentation section that explains in detail how to configure it — even the crazy Gateways! Read through those and you should come out fine.

How does the Licensing work for Add-ons?

Each license that you purchase is good for one year. It enables you to get automatic updates in your WordPress site whenever we push updates of that Add-on out. It also gives you access to our Premium Support where we handle support for all of our Premium Add-ons. Your license is automatically renewed each year, unless you opt-out of auto-renewals. You can do that by logging in to your account, going to “My Account”, then click on the “My Subscriptions” tab. Find your subscription there and click on “Disable Autorenewal”. This means your license will automatically expire one year from when it was issued unless you manually renew it. Additionally, you will receive emails prior to the auto-renewal.

You don’t have the Gateway I need! What do I do now?

Sorry about that. There’s actually hundreds of Gateways out there and we’re prioritizing the ones that we find are very useful for non-profits or based on user feedback. So if you’d like to see your favorite Gateway added, head over to our Coming Soon page and at the bottom is a form where you can submit it to be considered.

Where do I get Support?

If you are just using the free Give plugin, head over to the Give Support Forum on WordPress.org. We handle all free support there. If you have a problem with one of our premium Add-ons, we have dedicated and priority support for those.
