Peer-to-Peer Version 1.6.0: New Blocks and Shortcodes

New Peer-to-Peer blocks and shortcodes make creating custom pages and displays easier than ever.
Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Updates

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising is continuing to grow in popularity around the world and for good reason! With Peer-to-Peer fundraising, you can tap into the communities and social circles of your supporters to amplify fundraising efforts through team and individual fundraising. This kind of fundraising utilizes the external relationships of your team leaders to bring awareness to your cause and, subsequently, increase your fundraising.

Our GiveWP customers have utilized the Peer-to-Peer add-on in some powerful ways to bolster change in their communities. To continue to expand on what’s possible with Peer-to-Peer with GiveP, our team has paid special attention to your feedback and use cases.

Some of the feedback that came up repeatedly was related to creating a unique Peer-to-Peer campaign page and being able to promote a campaign across your site in an effective and seamless manner.

This next release moves us closer to the goal of customizable campaign pages and all the way to the goal of being able to promote campaigns across your site.

From all the feedback our teams have gathered over the last several months, our team decided to develop four new blocks to extend the possibilities for Peer-to-Peer with GiveWP:

  • Team Leaderboard Block: Displays the top teams for a P2P campaign.
  • Fundraiser Leaderboard Block: Displays the top fundraisers for a P2P campaign.
  • Campaign Highlight Block: Displays the P2P campaign headline, short description, goal bar, and a call to action to join or donate to the campaign.
  • Campaign List Block: Displays a grid of all or a select number of P2P campaigns, similar to our Donation Form Grid, but for Peer-to-Peer!

Customizing a Unique Page With New Peer-to-Peer Blocks

If you’re looking to create a unique page on your website to rearrange some classic P2P elements with GiveWP, the new Peer-to-Peer blocks can help you do it.

All Campaigns Page with the Campaign List Block

Let’s say you’d like to create a campaign page that highlights several Peer-to-Peer campaigns all at once: You can now use the Peer-to-Peer Campaign List block to display several or all P2P campaigns on a page and add custom content around that block as you like.

This page might include a description of how your organization uses Peer-to-Peer throughout the year, what each individual campaign represents, and the overall impact you’ve been able to make because of the P2P efforts. Focusing on the impact fundraisers had on a campaign can encourage others to join in on the fun.

A Different Look/Feel for a P2P Campaign Page

If you don’t need all of the elements our standard Peer-to-Peer page provides, you could use these new Peer-to-Peer blocks to create your own custom P2P page.

First, use the Campaign Highlight block as the header of your campaign. This will let your page visitors know what the campaign is and how to join.

Below that, you can add a text area, going into more detail about your campaign. You’ll want to include video, images, instructions for joining the campaign, and anything else that is relevant.

Next, you could choose to add either or both the Team Leaderboard and Fundraiser Leaderboard blocks. These blocks display the fundraisers that have joined your campaign.

And finally, you could add some social media options to allow folks to share the campaign page with others.

Using the New Peer-to-Peer Blocks for Effective Calls-to-Action

These new blocks in Peer-to-Peer will solve a common feature request: Easily displaying the stats of a campaign on another page of their website.

Show Off Fundraisers with the Team and Fundraiser Leaderboard Block

Do you want to showcase all the folks who’ve participated in one of your P2P campaigns to encourage others to join in? Add the Fundraiser Leaderboard block  or the Team Leaderboard block to any page you like to spark some competition and community.

Display Active Campaigns with the Campaign List Block

The new Campaign List block will allow you to specify the number of campaigns you’d like to display, such as only active campaigns or inactive campaigns. Consider adding a quick Campaign Block to your organization’s home page or event page to make sure your supporters know all the ways they can invest in your organization.

Peer-to-Peer Version 1.6.0 is Now Available!

There are so many possibilities with these new Peer-to-Peer blocks! Not using the block editor? No problem – each block we’ve mentioned can be implemented using shortcodes instead. We’re looking forward to seeing how our customers will put them to use to create unique P2P campaigns of their own.

This isn’t the only update P2P got. Check out our updated docs to learn more about the new features that help keep peer-to-peer donations manageable.
