Receipt Attachments for GiveWP

Receipt Attachments for GiveWP allows you to provide a file attachment that your donors can download after they donate to your cause. This document walks you through how to configure and use this Free add-on for GiveWP.

Why Receipt Attachments for GiveWP?

The Receipts Attachments for GiveWP add-on provides a file download link for your donors on the donation confirmation page and/or via email template. There are many reasons you might want to offer a file after a donation is complete.

For example, you can offer a customized PDF certificate for donors who donate a certain amount towards your cause. You could provide a MP3 file as a special release of a podcast or an exclusive music track. Providing a .zip file could allow for providing a free plugin or a WordPress theme download. There are plenty of possibilities to consider for your particular use case.

Feature-wise, the add-on allows for providing custom text on the donate confirmation page, as well as customizing the download link text. The download file can be toggled On/Off for the donation confirmation receipt page. A download link can be added to your email templates using an email tag. A minimum amount can also be set if you’d like to offer the file for donors who donate a certain amount or more. Any file that can be uploaded to your WordPress media folder is available for download. Check out the whole list of file types supported by the media folder.

PLEASE NOTE: The Receipt Attachments for GiveWP is currently compatible with the Legacy Form Template and not the Multi-Step Form Template

Getting Started with Receipt Attachments for GiveWP

After the add-on is activated and installed, navigate to Donations > All Forms > Select Form > Edit. You’ll be able to see the Receipts Attachment Settings at the bottom of your Form Settings. Keep in mind that if you have the “Show Download on Receipt Page” disabled, you’ll need to use the {attachmenturl} email tag in the Donation Receipt Email template that is sent to donors when their donation is completed. That email template can be found under Donations > Settings > Emails > Donor Emails > Donation Receipt. If the email tag is not added, there will be no way for donors to access the link to download the file.
