Peer-to-Peer Add-on Update: More Team and Fundraiser Control

Get more control over your teams and fundraisers in GiveWP Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Add-on v. 1.4. Plus, a variety of enhancements and fixes.

When we released our Peer-to-Peer add-on version 1.0, we knew we could count on our customers to help us shape its future.

These enhancements to peer-to-peer came directly from feedback by GiveWP customers! You asked and we created it. Here’s what new in Peer-to-Peer version 1.4.

🌟New in Peer-to-Peer for GiveWP

The first iteration of Peer-to-Peer provided a robust system for our users to build a sense of community and engagement among their supporters. Peer-to-Peer opens up an organization’s website to its supporters to get a wide audience involved in a single campaign. From teams to individual fundraisers, participants have the opportunity to create their own fundraising pages and share them wide and far across the web.

As our customers began to launch Peer-to-Peer campaigns, some were looking for more in terms of creating and managing teams. Peer-to-Peer 1.0 allows fundraisers to create and join teams, but there was a felt need by our users to control teams from the backend and offer more options for team creation. Being able to disable teams, in particular, was important to our customers as some campaigns don’t need team creation or management. In other scenarios, folks wanted to provide a set of teams for their fundraisers to choose from, instead of the freedom to create new teams themselves. It was important to us to address teams in a new way, given the variety of feedback we received regarding this feature request and use cases from our customers.

Here’s a summary:

  • Admins now have the ability to disable teams! Teams can then be entirely disabled, or the admin can create a fixed set of teams.
  • Admins can now create and manage Fundraisers and Teams from the admin-side!
  • Admins can now move Fundraisers between Teams, remove them from Teams, and change Team Captains.
  • Folks with an existing User can now log in when creating a new Team or Fundraiser to be connected to multiple campaigns under a single login.

⚙️ More Enhancements

That wasn’t the only work we did to our peer-to-peer add-on! Here are some of the enhancements we added:

  • A bunch of minor design improvements to polish up the front-end portion of campaigns.
  • Interface improvements to the admin campaign screen to more easily move between sections, campaigns, and teams.
  • Status column has been added to the campaigns list table. Now you easily know the status of all the campaigns!
  • All Teams and All Fundraisers pages now show all, even those without donations.
  • A variety of miscellaneous fixes
