Campaign Pages
Each Campaign comes with a pre-built Campaign Page that acts as the landing page where donors can learn about your cause and make a donation. This page is optional and provided for your convenience. You can edit the Campaign Page or customize it to suit your needs.
Managing the Campaign Page
If your website already had donation forms before the GiveWP 4.0 update, each form was migrated to a Campaign, and no Campaign Page was created because it wasn’t part of your fundraising efforts before. Any new Campaign you create comes with the Campaign Page created by default. You can manage this page the same way you would any other page on your website: create, edit, publish, set to draft, or delete.
Create a Campaign Page
If you’re managing a Campaign that was created from a donation form you had before the 4.0 update, and you’d like to create a Campaign Page for it, follow these steps:
- Go to GiveWP > Campaigns.
- Select the Campaign for which you’d like to create a Campaign Page.
- Use the Create campaign page button to create a new Campaign Page.
- You can now edit and publish your new Campaign Page.
Edit a Campaign Page
Once created, you can edit your Campaign Page from the Pages list just like any other page on your website. You can also edit it from inside your Campaign by following these steps:
- Go to GiveWP > Campaigns.
- Select the Campaign for which you’d like to edit the Campaign Page.
- Use the Edit campaign page button to enter the page editor.
You can find more information on how to customize and publish your Campaign Page in the sections below.
Move a Campaign Page to Draft
If you’ve published your Campaign Page, but you’d like to move it back to Draft so it’s no longer visible on your website, follow these steps:
- Go to GiveWP > Campaigns.
- Select the Campaign for which you’d like to move the Campaign Page to Draft.
- Use the Edit campaign page to get into the Campaign Page editor.
- Find the Status in the Page tab of the right sidebar menu (you may have to select the black sidebar button next to the Save button in the top menu to make it appear).
- Select the status to edit it.
- Choose Draft from the list of page statuses that appear in a pop-up modal.
Now your page is in Draft and will no longer be visible to visitors on your website. You can republish it using the Publish button at any time.
Delete the Campaign Page
Note: Deleting a Campaign Page is not recommended. It’s better to set the page to Draft.
If you don’t want to use a Campaign Page with your Campaign, you can move it to trash just like you would do with any other page. Follow these steps to delete your Campaign Page:
- Go to GiveWP > Campaigns.
- Select the Campaign for which you’d like to delete the Campaign Page.
- Use the Edit campaign page button to get into the Campaign Page editor.
Alternatively, you can delete the page from your Pages as well:
- Enter your website admin.
- Go to Pages in the left sidebar menu.
- Select the Campaign Page you’d like to delete.
- Hover over the page name and select Trash or select the checkbox next to the page name and use the Bulk actions menu to move it to Trash.
Warning: Do not permanently delete your Campaign Page or you will not be able to restore it. A new page cannot be linked to the Campaign, and you will have to build it from scratch.
Restore a Deleted Campaign Page
You can restore a deleted Campaign Page from the trash to start using it again by following these steps:
- Enter your website admin.
- Go to Pages in the left sidebar menu.
- Go to the Trash tab above the list of pages.
- Hover over the name of the Campaign Page you want to restore and select Restore.
- Your Campaign Page has now moved out of Trash, and you can edit and publish it again.
Customizing Your Campaign Page
Once in the editor, the customization options are nearly endless. The Campaign Page uses the native WordPress Blocks Editor to add and arrange content, so any block can be used on that page. It is also compatible with most block-based themes and builders.
Customize the Page Layout
By default, the Campaign Page has a two-column layout with a cover image (if provided) on the top left and a donate button on the top right of the page. This is a common layout for fundraising pages, designed to convert visitors into donors. However, you can change the layout however you want using column blocks.
You can read up on how to use the WordPress Block Editor if you want to learn more about how the native WordPress features work. It’s a little bit technical, but it could be helpful. GiveWP has streamlined these features as much as possible and provided key elements that are ready to use.

Customize the Content Blocks
You can add any content you want to the Campaign Page by adding blocks. By default, some default blocks are included to display dynamic information about your Campaign to potential donors, saving you time on editing and updating. You can rearrange, remove, and re-add any of these blocks on your Campaign Page.
Default Content
- Campaign Title: The page title uses the Campaign title by default. You can change this at any time, and it will only change on the page and not the Campaign itself.
- Featured Image: This block uses the Campaign cover image by default. You can change this at any time, and it will only change on the page and not the Campaign itself.
- Paragraph: This block shows the Campaign description (if provided) by default. You can change the content to tell your campaign’s story without character limits, and it will only change the content on the page and not in your Campaign Settings.
- Campaign Goal: This block reflects the fundraising goal you chose for your Campaign. If you want to change the goal, you must do that within the Campaign Settings.
- Donate Button: This block adds a button to your page that opens a donation form in a pop-up modal. It uses the Campaign’s default form, but you can change it to another form belonging to the same Campaign in the block settings.
- Recent Donations: This block shows the most recent donations made to the Campaign. You can choose how many donations to show or change it to Top Donations to show the largest donations in the block settings.
- Top Donors: This block shows the donors who have made the largest donations to your Campaign. You can choose how many donors to show or change it to Recent Donors to show the most recent contributors in the block settings.
Adding More Content
Beyond what the campaign page provides by default, you can continue to edit the page to customize and add your personal touches. Consider adding sections such as impact stories, testimonials, videos … basically, as much content as you need to increase engagement.
Add Blocks
When you’re ready to add a new content block, you can follow these steps:
- In the Campaign Page editor, select the blue plus (+) button on the left side of the top menu.
- A block menu will open in a left sidebar.
- You can scroll through the blocks to find what you want or use the search bar at the top of the menu.
- Look for the Give section in the menu to find blocks that are provided by GiveWP. Or, you can search for keywords like “campaign,” “donor,” or “donation” in the search bar to find relevant blocks.
- Select the block you want to use, and it will be added to the bottom of the page. Or, drag it from the menu to the spot you’d like to add it.
You can also add blocks from directly inside the page:
- Hover over the area where you want to place the block.
- Wait to see a blue line with a plus (+) symbol, and select the plus.
- A small pop-up modal will appear with a block menu.
- A few frequently used blocks will show, but you can search this menu for the block you want.
Note: Some people find it difficult to use the in-page block menu provided by WordPress. We recommend using the first method for more control over the editing experience.
Publishing Your Campaign Page
When you are ready to kick off your campaign, follow these steps to publish your Campaign Page:
- Go to GiveWP > Campaigns.
- Select the Campaign you want to publish.
- Use the Edit campaign page button to enter the editor.
- Use the Publish button on the right side of the top menu to publish the page.
Now you’re ready to share your campaign and start accepting donations!
Campaign Statuses
Each campaign can have one of three statuses: Active, Archived, or Draft.
Draft: This status indicates an unpublished version of a campaign. It allows you to refine and adjust the campaign’s details before making it public. You can change the status of an Archived Campaign to Draft again in preparation for relaunching the campaign. Once you update your campaign from Draft, it will be Active again.
Active: A campaign with this status is live and currently accepting donations. Every campaign starts in this status when it’s created.
Archived: Once a campaign is published, it cannot be deleted. However, you can set its status to Archived to prevent the campaign from taking in donations.
