GiveWP Feature Deprecation
With the advent of new features, interfaces, and functionality there’s always a natural concern that older features will be removed and replaced.
Eventually, the new visual donation form builder will replace the current form editing experience. The GiveWP team is committed to maintaining support for any functionality currently possible, until that functionality can be reasonably and easily replicated in the new Form Editing experience. Forms created with the options-based form editor will be supported for the foreseeable future. The drive toward the Visual Donation Form Builder is one toward greater flexibility and more full features, so to state it differently:
Legacy, Multistep, and Classic form templates will remain fully functional until every reason you’d choose those templates is gone. Plus, the migration process from those old templates to new forms is seamless and controlled by you. Peace of mind is baked in.
With the exception of PayPal Pro, a payment gateway add-on deprecated a few months before version 3.0 was launched, no add-ons are currently being deprecated, and the team is working to update them for compatibility with the Visual Donation Form Builder.
Independent of GiveWP, PayPal Standard has been deprecated by PayPal, and it will eventually be removed from GiveWP in favor of PayPal Donations. There is no time frame set for its removal, but switching to PayPal Donations soon is recommended. PayPal Standard is currently compatible with the Visual Donation Form Builder.
