From Updates to Upgrades: A Q1 Recap of GiveWP’s Enhancements

Updates, enhancements, new features - oh my! Dive into just a few of the exciting things GiveWP rolled out in Q1.

During the first quarter of 2024, we made several enhancements to the GiveWP product. As always, these improvements are made with our core value in mind: empowering nonprofits, charities, and fundraisers with the tools they need to make a meaningful impact on their communities.

Let’s recap some exciting releases and updates shared in Q1.

Event Tickets Block Beta

The beta for one of our most requested features — Event Tickets — opened in March! This block allows you to add tickets (whether free or paid) to your donation forms, allowing your supporters to donate and purchase event tickets simultaneously.

Being in beta means that we are still working on the feature, but it’s in a state where you can use it. Currently, the block serves the basic need of adding tickets, but that’s not where we’re stopping. We understand that you may need more robust features in the future. With that in mind, our next step is integrating with Event Tickets by The Events Calendar.

Two-Panel Layout and Header Images

We’ve introduced a two-panel layout into the Visual Donation Form Builder. It’s the third layout available in the VDFB, joining Classic and Multi-Step. It’s modern and appealing, placing the entire header on the left (including the header image and form goals) and displaying the rest of the form in a step-by-step format on the right.

Speaking of header images, this popular feature request is available and can be found in your design settings. Displaying an image on your form can evoke emotion, increase trust, improve conversion, and deepen brand recognition.

Customizable Campaign Pages in Peer-to-Peer

We recently updated the Peer-to-Peer add-on to introduce the block editor, which allows you to build more customizable campaign pages. You can optimize your campaign pages for better conversion with the new options.

Add-On Compatibility with the Visual Donation Form Builder

We continue to work hard to make more add-ons compatible with the Visual Donation Form Builder. We’ll highlight some here, but the complete list is in our compatibility guide.

Funds and Designations

Designations allow your supporters to tell you how they want their gift to be used by your organization. For instance, a zoo might allow you to designate funds to go to a specific animal, exhibit, or conservation effort.

Designated funds are one of the most underrated fundraising options. Although they may seem limiting, they give donors a sense of empowerment, helping them feel like they have a more direct impact on the cause they feel most connected to.

Per Form Gateways

Exactly what it sounds like, Per Form Gateways lets you customize which payment gateways you want on each form. There are a handful of reasons why you might want to change your gateways across your forms; for instance, having a donation form for “offline” or manual donations allows your donors to show that they intend to send you an offline donation, like a physical check.

Peer-to-Peer

One of the most powerful forms of fundraising is now compatible with the Visual Donation Form Builder! Peer-to-peer fundraising leverages your supporters’ social connections and enthusiasm to raise funds and awareness for your cause in a cost-effective and engaging way.

Creating peer-to-peer fundraisers in conjunction with the Visual Donation Form Builder can also:

  • Leverage social proof: people are more likely to donate to a cause if it’s recommended by someone they know and trust
  • Scale quickly: As more supporters join the effort and recruit their own networks, fundraising for your organization can expand exponentially without requiring additional resources.
  • Create a sense of community: When people come together around a common goal, they feel a sense of belonging and purpose, leading to increased participation and support.

What’s Next in Q2
