Campaigns

Campaigns are a core feature in GiveWP, designed to provide a more dynamic and goal-oriented approach to fundraising. Beyond traditional donation forms, Campaigns allow you to create rich, story-driven fundraising initiatives with built-in progress tracking, donor engagement tools, and flexible donation options.

Key Features

Campaign creation and management in GiveWP includes a variety of tools to help organize and present fundraising efforts effectively. Each campaign features a dedicated, customizable landing page with a unique URL, making it easy to share and promote. Campaign goals come with options for every type of fundraising and include built-in visual indicators to track progress. Campaigns support both recurring and one-time donations, giving donors flexibility in how they choose to give. To match different design preferences or branding needs, the campaign page content and styles are completely customizable.

Campaign Analytics and Reporting

The Overview section gives you a snapshot of your Campaign’s performance over time and in relation to the goal you’ve set.

  • There are buttons to view the donation statistics over different time frames like: Today, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, and All-time 
  • In the Revenue section, you can track donation amounts over the life of your Campaign in a visual graph.

Getting Started with Campaigns

If your site had forms before updating to a version with Campaigns, your donation forms will be converted to Campaigns. Nothing will change about how your donation forms work or are displayed on your website. You can view the list of Campaigns at GiveWP > Campaigns. Click the Edit link under your Campaign’s name to edit the Campaign.

Create Your Campaign

To create a new Campaign, go to GiveWP > Campaigns and use the Create Campaign button. Fill out the following options:

  • Title: (Required) Decide what you want to call your fundraising campaign. This title will automatically appear in Campaign blocks you place on your website, so it should be donor-friendly.
  • Description: (Optional) Add a short description that will help donors understand your cause. This also appears in Campaign blocks on your website and is limited to 120 characters.
  • Cover Image: (Optional) Add a visually compelling image to your campaign that will appear in Campaign blocks. You can upload any image file, but it’s best to use images that have an approximate aspect ratio of 16:9 and size of 1600×900 pixels.
    • Images are responsive and will be cropped or resized to fit the space they’re in. When cropped, the image is automatically centered.
  • Goal: (Required) You can choose from Amount raised, Number of donations, or Number of Donors.
    • If you have installed the Recurring Donations add-on, you will also see Subscription amount raised, Number of subscriptions, and Number of subscribers.

When you create a new campaign, it automatically generates a donation form and a campaign page. You will need to edit your form to add fields, configure donation amounts and recurring donation options, or change styles. You will need to edit your campaign page to customize its content and appearance.

Publish Your Campaign

Once your Campaign is created, your donation form is published and ready to display on your website or share with donors. However, you must publish your Campaign’s page before it will automatically be live. You can publish your page by following these steps:

  1. Go to GiveWP > Campaigns.
  2. Select the Campaign you want to publish.
  3. Use the Edit Campaign button to enter the Campaign page editor.
  4. After ensuring the content and styles meet your needs, use the Publish button to publish the page.
