The Public Interest Registry (PIR) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to serve the public interest online. You probably know them best for the work they do to operate and manage domain registrars in the nonprofit sector who can sell .ORG domains — the gold standard in the nonprofit domain space.
In their quest to support mission-driven organizations, PIR has launched a brand new top-level domain (TLD). The new domain adds to the .ORG family: .GIVING.
The .GIVING domain is now publicly available to mission-driven entities such as nonprofits, social enterprises, or corporations with a commitment to social responsibility regardless of their for-profit or nonprofit status.
The .GIVING domain comes with the same trustworthiness and security that .ORG provides, signaling to potential donors that the site is a dedicated space for online giving.

.GIVING will make it easier than ever for mission-driven organizations to raise money for social causes and will empower individuals to promote, support, and contribute to the causes they connect with the most in 2023 and beyond,” said Jon Nevett, CEO of Public Interest Registry.

In December of 2021, PIR announced its expansion strategy for its registry portfolio. The launch of the .GIVING domain is just one of the many steps PIR outlined in that expansion announcement.
