Revisit the enhancements and new features that GiveWP dropped in Q2, like Registration Fees for Peer-to-Peer and Two-Panel Layout.

As we march toward the end of 2024, we want to share some of the most significant enhancements we made to GiveWP in the second quarter. These updates are designed to provide more flexibility, customization, and powerful features to help you achieve your fundraising goals. Here’s a detailed look at what’s new and improved.

Peer-to-Peer Registration Fees

We added the ability to collect registration fees within your peer-to-peer campaigns. This update allows campaign creators to enable and require registration fees, covering essential costs like t-shirts and event setup. Here’s how it works:

  • Enable Registration Fees: Specify a fee amount per campaign.
  • Automatic Requirement: Fundraisers must pay the fee to activate their participation.
  • Integrated Payment Process: Seamless Stripe integration allows easy payment during registration.
  • Stripe Management: All transactions are managed within your Stripe account.

Currently, Stripe is the sole payment processor that supports registration fees. These fees are managed entirely through Stripe, with no administrative actions available within GiveWP. Additionally, Fee Recovery does not apply to registration fees. This enhancement streamlines campaign management and ensures fundraising efforts are well-supported.

Peer-to-Peer Customizable Pages with the Block Editor

We introduced the Block Editor to Peer-to-Peer, making all campaign page content modular. You can now easily rearrange, add, or customize content. The new editor lets you select color, manage header content, and include text, videos, and HTML. Additionally, you can apply CSS at the page level and add CSS classes to individual blocks. The new editor provides endless customization options!

Peer-to-Peer Multiple Teams

Fundraisers can now join multiple teams within the same campaign. Once registered as a fundraiser, they can join or create multiple teams without re-registering. Each team will have a separate fundraiser page, allowing for more dynamic and flexible team management within campaigns.

Form Goals

In response to valuable customer feedback, we updated goal progress bars to exclude recovered transaction fees (when using the Fee Recovery add-on) from goal progress. This change ensures a more accurate representation of funds raised towards your goal, giving you and your supporters a clearer picture of your fundraising progress.

You can also display donations for all time or filter them using time-based settings to select specific start and end dates. Additionally, you can track periodic goals on the same form, so there’s no need to transfer recurring donations to a new form or lose those contributions toward your progress. These settings empower you to motivate donors to contribute towards fundraising goals during specific periods, such as monthly or over a holiday.

Header Images & Two-Panel Layout

Our Visual Donations Form Builder now includes a header image option. This change ensures the VDFB meets every need that the Options-Based Editor does. By adding a header image to your donation form, you can increase the effectiveness of your fundraising by emotionally engaging your donors, increasing trust, and making the donation process memorable.

The Visual Donation Form Builder now features a sleek Two-Panel layout, offering a more modern and visually appealing design than the Options-Based Editor. The left panel showcases the full header, including the header image and form goal, while the right panel presents the rest of the form in a step-by-step format. This layout mirrors the Multi-Step process, enhancing the donation experience by guiding donors through each step. We opted for this format because it is known to boost conversions.

Braintree Recurring Donations

For enterprise-level organizations, we integrated Recurring Donations with Braintree’s robust security and fraud prevention tools. This enhancement ensures seamless integration with the Visual Donation Form Builder and addresses the needs of organizations requiring advanced security features while supporting recurring donations.

Visual Donation Form Builder Compatibility

We spent a lot of time on add-on compatibility this quarter, adding the following integrations and features to the VDFB:

  • Donation Upsells for WooCommerce
  • Payment gateways such as PayFast, Mollie, and per-form gateways
  • Donation Widgets for Elementor
  • Gift Aid
  • Marketing add-ons, including Mailchimp, Constant Contact, ConvertKit, and Active Campaign
  • Double the Donation
  • Text descriptions for donation amounts
  • Fee Recovery opt-in by default

These updates make the Visual Donation Form Builder more versatile and powerful, enabling you to create customized and effective donation forms that meet your needs. They also help us move toward our goal of making VDFB the default form editor.

Looking Forward

We’re committed to continuously improving GiveWP to support your fundraising efforts. These Q2 updates are a testament to our dedication to providing you with the best tools and features to help you succeed. We’re excited to see how you’ll leverage these new capabilities to enhance your campaigns and make a greater impact.
