Update: Donation Widgets for Elementor Compatibility

The Donation Widgets for Elementor add-on is now compatible with the Visual Donation Form Builder. Learn more about the updates!
Donation Widget for Elementor

Donation Widgets for Elementor is a free add-on for GiveWP that makes it easy to embed GiveWP shortcodes or GiveWP blocks into pages made with Elementor. We recently updated this add-on to be compatible with the Visual Donation Form Builder. We fixed a few bugs while we were at it.

Included in This Release

Most of the widgets GiveWP provides for Elementor already worked with forms created using the Visual Donation Form Builder or were not directly related to forms. Donation History, Donation Receipt, Give Register, Give Login, Give Profile Editor, Give Donor Wall, Give Goal, and Give Multi Form Goal are unchanged because they did not require an update.

However, we did need to update the Give Totals, Give Form, and GiveWP Form Grid widgets.

GiveWP Form Widget

This widget can now display any form you create, including forms created using the Visual Donation Form Builder. The “Show Form Title” and “Show Goal” toggles also work with any form you create.

The only caveat is that we cannot apply the Form Display Style selections to forms created using the Visual Donation Form Builder. We have added a note to the settings to explain this limitation. We will need to provide a separate set of Form Display Style options for forms created using the Visual Donation Form Builder at a later date.

GiveWP Form Grid Widget

While forms created with the Visual Donation Form Builder were already shown in the Grid Widget, we found some issues that needed to be resolved and some confusing settings that needed to be improved.

The goal-related show/hide settings needed to be clarified. There was a show/hide toggle for the goal and another for the progress bar. We consolidated these settings to a show/hide option for the goal. If it’s shown, the progress bar is included. If it’s hidden, the progress bar is not shown either. This makes sense because you can’t see the progress bar unless the goal is shown.

The “Order by” setting twice showed “Form Name” in the drop-down. That issue has been resolved, so it only shows once.

GiveWP Totals Widget

Forms created with the Visual Donation Form Builder will now be suggestions when you add forms to the “Forms” field. You can select them, and they will be accurately represented by the % funded, $ raised, and goal progress bar on the widget.
