In one month The Artaxis Fellowship raised all the funds needed for a scholarship fund using Give.
Here’s their story.
Art is life. Life is art. Often when times get tight, art suffers — either from lack of funds to teach or because the artist has to leave their calling for gainful employment.
The Artaxis Fellowship believes that the artistic intuition and skill should be nurtured. To this end, they have set up a scholarship for a summer residency.
The Cause: Summer Residency Scholarship
“The Artaxis Fellowship is an award worth up to $2,000 to fund a two-week summer residency at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. This fellowship will cover room and board, the cost of the two-week residency, and travel costs up to $600 for travel to and from Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, Maine.”
How Artaxis Used Give:
They are using Give on their WordPress website to collect funds to raise funding for website administrative costs. Artaxis is using PayPal as their payment gateway.
They also used a form on the fellowship page for the scholarship. Since that goal has been completed, they will repost the form after the scholarship has been awarded.
“In just a little over a month, we successfully raised enough to send an artist in need to a summer artist residency in Newcastle, Maine.”
Campaign Results:
Artaxis is currently accepting applications for the scholarship.
“The recipient will be announced in late February via our website and social media accounts and will attend a 2016 summer residency of their choice at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Newcastle, Maine. We are thrilled to be able to work with Watershed and our members to pool our resources and send an artist in need to an experience that can change a life.”
As a collective of artists, they believe in investing in their community.
They are so excited for the quick results with Give and are now accepting applications from artists for the scholarship. They can’t wait to see which deserving artist in need is awarded the fellowship!
