Updating Payment Information
Recurring Donors can update their card information stored at the Payment Gateway securely. This document will walk you through that process.
If a donor wants to update their card information at the payment gateway for a recurring subscription, there is an interface within the output of the [[give_subscriptions]] shortcode to handle that. Once added to a page, the main interface for updating card information will be visible to your donors.
Note: Card/Payment information is never stored on your site, for PCI compliance purposes. Read more about GiveWP and PCI compliance.
First, the donor clicks the “Update Payment Info” link on the main interface.
That opens a new form where the current card’s last 4 digits are displayed, and new card fields are displayed below.
Once the donor fills out the card information, the new card number is sent to the payment gateway (over the secure SSL connection from your site to the gateway) and the response is displayed in an alert on the site.
Note: Updating subscription card payment information is available for Stripe and Authorize.net payment gateways.
