Taxonomies
The Taxonomies section of the Default Options settings tab allows you to control whether your GiveWP forms support Categories and/or Tags.
Taxonomy Overview
The taxonomies section of the Default Options settings page give you the ability to greatly enhance your site if you have (or plan to have) multiple ways for donors to give. Categories and tags are what WordPress calls “taxonomies” for labeling your posts (or in the case of GiveWP, labeling your donation forms). They help potential donors understand how different donation forms relate to one another.
The Enable Form Categories and Enable Form Tags checkboxes on the Default Options settings tab enable this functionality.
Form Categories
- Options: Enabled / Disabled
- Default: Disabled
This allows you to add your GiveWP forms to Categories, similarly to how you add Posts to Categories. This also means your GiveWP forms will have a Category Archive page which you could use to display all the Forms in a given category.

Form Tags
- Options: Enabled / Disabled
- Default: Disabled
This allows you to add Tags to your GiveWP forms, similar to how you add Tags to your Posts. This also means your GiveWP forms will have a unique URL which can display all the GiveWP forms with a certain Tag attached to them.
Once you’ve checked the boxes and saved the settings, you’ll see two new submenu items under the Donations menu, as well as new metaboxes on each individual form to categorize and tag the form.
If you don’t see those submenu items immediately, go to “Settings > Permalinks” and just hit “Save” to refresh your permalinks for those new URLs to be generated.
