GiveWP recently crossed a major milestone: 100,000 users worldwide. That means that over 100,000 websites are raising money with GiveWP.
To celebrate this milestone in our company’s history, we thought, “Why not throw a party?”
In addition to giving 30% off all Pricing Plans for a limited time, we’re hosting an online gathering on February 5th. There will be music performed by Team Give members, fun hallway chats with other Givers and WordPressers, and loads of free plugins. We’re even launching our brand new GiveWP Swag Store and will have lots of opportunities for free swag for attendees.
The celebration starts at noon Pacific, but feel free to join us any time! We’ll be there until 3:00.

About the 100K Celebration
This is no ordinary virtual event. We’re partying on Gather, an 8-bit virtual world where you can control an avatar and connect with people face-to-face via video. It’s a little bit like playing The Legend of Zelda while video chatting with your friends.
The event space includes an 8-bit recreation of our offices in Hilton, New York and San Diego, California. So you can see how Team Give operates when there isn’t a pandemic preventing us from being together.

A Brief History of Team Give
It’s amazing thinking back to the days that GiveWP was just launching, when we had zero active installs. We were a team of 3: Devin Walker (now CEO), Jason Knill (now CFO), and myself (now COO).
We wanted to tackle a big problem for nonprofits who used WordPress. At the time, there was no bigger problem than how best to accept donations. Our very first product video (which we produced on a shoestring budget) made the (very accurate) claims that you had to either hack WooCommerce, or use a form builder that didn’t have donor management and reporting.
We asked ourselves “Why should donors have to go through a cart system?” The answer was clearly: they shouldn’t. So we built GiveWP!
But plugins aren’t an “if you build it they will come” situation. How can we let the whole wide world of WordPress know that there’s now a solid donation plugin? We were ecstatic to quickly get covered in WP Tavern, WP Beginner, Pagely, and more. We also started speaking at and sponsoring as many WordCamps as we could — and made sooo many great friends along the way.
We learned hard lessons about massive plugin vulnerabilities, and grumpy free users, and how to stand up against those who want to do harm with your plugin. We kept building new add-ons and even found ourselves chatting with leaders at Stripe and PayPal.
Most importantly, we kept telling stories. Stories of the success of the amazing causes and individuals using GiveWP. Stories of new adoptions, brain surgery, funding education, opposing racism in Charlottesville, supporting restaurant workers, and so, SO much more.
Along the way we also hired an amazing team that we adore. From our ragtag group of three, we’ve grown to a team of 20+ working remotely all over the world. And we continue to grow at rates that we never thought possible.
For all of these reasons and more, we’re excited to celebrate WITH YOU that 100,000 people all over the world is just the beginning of all the GOOD we will do as Team Give!
