About Theresa:
Theresa Jennings is a Southern Californian designer and WordPress developer who loves the Genesis Framework. She’s active in local Meetups, WordCamps, and beloved by many.
She started her Give crowdfunding campaign to cover medical expenses and recovery expenses for surgery to remove a meningioma (non-cancerous tumor) in a bad spot in her brain that’s caused tremendous pain and disruption to her work and home life.

How Theresa Used Give:
Originally, Theresa set up a GoFundMe campaign. But the math started to not make sense. Give, as a crowdfunding tool, seemed to be a better solution.
She knew she had the skills to develop her own WordPress site, since she is a WordPress freelancer. She’s been a long-time supporter of Give and so it was a natural fit.
“I created one form that I placed in a sidebar widget that showed up on every page. I also did blog posts of how things were going with my health and my fundraising and posted them to Facebook and Twitter.”
Campaign Results:
Theresa has more than met her $10,000 goal, especially since adding the Give campaign — Give takes no commission on the donations.
She’s even been able to move up her neurosurgeon appointment. Soon, she will be pain free!
